'''Asmos''' (sometimes known as the '''Lord of Nothing''' or the '''Lord of the Void''') is the creator of [[Erudite]] and the [[Old Pantheon]]. Despite being the creator of everything, he is considered evil by many cultures who instead attribute the creation of the world to [[Ouros]] - an entity considered far more benevolent.

While many believe that Asmos' indifference towards the universe is the result of being all-knowing and omnipotent, this is actually a misconception. In reality, Asmos lacks any innate understanding of right and wrong, knowing almost nothing about basic instincts and tendencies mortals tend to take for granted. With a coldly analytical mind, his sole motivation is to study the evolution of life as well as the rise and fall of civilizations in order to satiate his curiosity.

Rarely worshipped outside the regions of [[Leir]] and [[Emsius]], Asmos became a central figure of a monotheistic religion credited to have started with the [[Jad peoples]]. The Jad and other early followers of the [[Asmosianism]] faith depicted Asmos as the one true god and the only being worthy of worship.
==History==
According to legend, Asmos was the first conscious being to appear in the universe. Asmos came into being after many random permutations of the chaos of unformed [[ekati]]. Asmos would then proceed to create other worlds by learning to manipulate the ekati into more refined forms as the seven elements. It is unknown how many other worlds Asmos created, but eventually, he came to realize that his work could become more efficient if he were to create other beings besides himself. Thus, he created the [[Old Pantheon]], tasking them with building a world he would never have conceived of on his own. The result was [[Erudite]].

After infighting amongst the gods, the Old Pantheon eventually perished in an event known as the Shattering, when the gods went to war over the murder of the moon goddess [[Isha]]. However, Asmos himself never participated in the fighting which left him the last surviving god older than the Shattering. It is perhaps this survivorship that led many cultures to blame Asmos for allowing the gods to destroy themselves.
