			Erudite has a cold equator and even colder polar regions, with warm bands at the tropics. These warm areas are somewhat offset by oceanic gyres and other environmental mechanics. In Erudite's Northern Hemisphere, the heat band runs through the desert regions of [[Leir]] and the [[Outerlands]], and then dips down through [[Shuang]], although the latter is one of the colder areas of Eidyn due to its elevation and the atmospheric effects of volcanic activity of nearby [[Heznland]].

			This heat band continues to Khyorgan where it heats [[Mrigae]], the [[Shai-shan Archipelago]], and [[Desert of Lexighor]], then through the [[Amacata Desert]] and [[Atonicka]]. Although [[Polvora]], [[Andavronia]], and [[Amicalis]] are at similar latitudes to these, the natural flow of cool wind and water from elsewhere has a cooling effect.

			Erudite is 24,000km in diameter. Although most terrestrial planets of this size would experience immense gravitational effects, Erudite's gravity is only around 9.78 meters per second (99.72g) at its surface. The most prominent reason for this lies with Erudite's core:

			Erudite does not have an iron, or otherwise metal inner core as might be expected from a typical terrestrial planet. Instead, Erudite's inner core is made of [[Ekati]], a crystal substance. Consequently, the mass of the planet, and by extension its gravity, is quite a bit less than might otherwise be expected. Normally, a planet's metallic core is crucial to providing a magnetic field around the planet; However Erudite's mantle produces a magnetic field around the planet due to the presence of Magnesium Oxide. When this effect combines together with a special Ekati variant called Thale Ekati found within the planet's core, which also produces a magnetic field effect, these two conditions are able to provide the same protection as would be afforded by a traditional metallic core.
