New page

The Kalta Tribes are a group of dwarves native to the Kalta Mountains in Swen. They are descended from ancient explorers from Archei that tunneled their way underground all the way from Khyorgan. Unlike Archei dwarves, Kalta dwarves are much taller than most humans. They are thought to be a separate subspecies after having evolved in isolation for thousands of years.

The king of the Kalta Tribes during the Cyber Era was Eitri. His brother Brokkr operates a forge capable of creating Zula technology. This technology was kept a secret until the start of the Cyber Era, where it could serve as a viable alternative to ekati-based magitek.
History
When the dwarves first settled in the Kalta Mountains thousands of years before the Demon Wars, they made contact with the Zula, a tribe of humans that had discovered the power of blue sap. The two formed an alliance where the Zula would teach the Kalta dwarves how to use dreamwalking magic in exchange for their ability to create new technology by forging molten and metal and blue sap together.

When the Zula tribe was banished alongside their rivals, the Goar, the Kalta Tribes had one final commission before they left. They fortified the walls around the Citadel of Eden so that no mortal could enter it. The first human to enter it since then was Xavier Martines who had breached it in the 990s ADW using a dark corridor.

The Kalta Tribes had been very protective of their technology since then, being incredibly wary of outsiders. When the world was threatened during the Second Rupture in 999 ADW, the Kalta Tribes reluctantly allowed other mortals to borrow their technology to help fight against the dark spirits.
