Dorbintage

A dorbintage is a type of dark spirit that manifests itself in pitch black areas. Described as sentient darkness, they appear as a floating series of black bandages that wrap tightly around someone. The dorbintage continuously binds and strangles its victim until they begin absorbing their life essence. However, this creature can be repelled by any sort of light source.

Training at the Martines Dreamwalking Academy

Although controversial, a professor at the Martines Dreamwalking Academy uses a live dorbintage in a lesson to train students against fending against dark spirits. In peacetime, this sort of rigorous training would not have been allowed, but exceptions were made given circumstances of impending threats such as Praxis.
