Erudite
Erudite is a planet at the center of a geocentric system. It is a world abundant in magic, and it is home to countless mortal races.
Erudite has two moons named Isha and Kosa as well as a planetary ring named Isha's Grace. The small red star Ouros orbits it which gives the planet a day-night cycle.
Geography
Erudite has numerous different continents, some of which are split into smaller continents and islands.
Geodynamics
Erudite is 24,000km in diameter. Although most terrestrial planets of this size would experience immense gravitational effects, Erudite's gravity is only around 9.78 meters per second (99.72g) at its surface. The most prominent reason for this lies with Erudite's core:
Erudite does not have an iron, or otherwise metal inner core as might be expected from a typical terrestrial planet. Instead, Erudite's inner core is made of Ekati, a crystal substance. Consequently, the mass of the planet, and by extension its gravity, is quite a bit less than might otherwise be expected. Normally, a planet's metallic core is crucial to providing a magnetic field around the planet; However Erudite's mantle produces a magnetic field around the planet due to the presence of Magnesium Oxide. When this effect combines together with a special Ekati variant called Thale Ekati found within the planet's core, which also produces a magnetic field effect, these two conditions are able to provide the same protection as would be afforded by a traditional metallic core.
This core is the source of all Ekati found in Erudite, as it seeps, in liquid form, through Erudite's mantle, and solidifies in a crystalline form. In some places, Ekati wells reach the surface, erupting and saturating the area with magic, as is the case in Bhari'Adavi. Erudite also has traditional magma seeps and volcanic conduits as well, which are not particularly closely associated with the flow of liquid Ekati. The internal flow of Ekati is affected heavily by the core, which has a pseudo-magnetic effect which alters the trajectory and pressure of the liquid, causing it to diverge from the routes magma flows take to the surface.
Climate
Erudite has a cold equator and even colder polar regions, with warm bands at the tropics. These warm areas are somewhat offset by oceanic gyres and other environmental mechanics. In Erudite's Northern Hemisphere, the heat band runs through the desert regions of Leir and the Outerlands, and then dips down through Shuang, although the latter is one of the colder areas of Eidyn due to its elevation and the atmospheric effects of volcanic activity of nearby Heznland.
This heat band continues to Khyorgan where it heats Mrigae, the Shai-shan Archipelago, and Desert of Lexighor, then through the Amacata Desert and Atonicka. Although Polvora, Andavronia, and Amicalis are at similar latitudes to these, the natural flow of cool wind and water from elsewhere has a cooling effect.
The north and south poles of Erudite are much colder than the rest of the world, and are home to permanent polar ice caps that remain frozen year-round.
