Maximum Chronomancy Date

The Maximum Chronomancy Date is an ontological oddity within the Erudite universe. Exactly 1,020 years after the Demon Wars, all chronomancy and seer divination ceases to function. No one has ever been able to use time travel to go past this date. Anyone who has tried would find themselves stranded, unable to return to their original time period. Even the Star Crown, which has the ability to grant the user knowledge of the future and alternate timelines, has never seen past this point in time. Surprisingly, this phenomenon is well-documented in many ancient civilizations. The Wasari Tribe of pre-desert Leir was said to be one of the earliest societies to have been made aware of this, which is said to have been the source of a doomsday prophecy in Asmosianism which foretells that the world will end on that date.

When Erudite's present time reached 1020 ADW, the world did not instantly cease to exist, but the fact that various magitek devices based on chronomancy has suddenly stopped working was nonetheless considered a bad omen. With Erudite entering a time of uncertainty and brewing hysteria, it would be defined as an era known as the Unkown Future.

The Truth

In reality, the reason for this date was that when Asmos created the universe, he never planned any destiny for mortals beyond that date. If there was meant to be, the Old Pantheon died before they could reshape the future in any way. Out of apathy, Asmos was intending to let Erudite die to powerful dark forces such as Antithesis and any malevolent spirits that had absorbed Vaskus's memories. Then, he would proceed make another world like he did countless times before in the chaos before Erudite.

While Antithesis was successfully held back, the universe continued existing afterward while Asmos continued to watch from afar. Mortals would be left to their own devices to shape Erudite as they saw fit.
