The Vanadian Empire were an ancient, magitek empire of dwarves that was contemporary to the Segaran Technocracy. They occupied the region of Subterra underneath the ocean west of Khyorgan.
Demographics
Despite the fact that dwarves were less magically gifted than other races, the Vanadians were known to have conducted many magical experiments. Through intensively controlled breeding programs, they enhanced themselves and their capabilities to effectively create a new subrace of dwarf exlusive to their empire. Vanadian dwarves tend to have grey skin and red glowing eyes as a result.

- Main article: Replica Worldstone
One of the Vanadian Empire's early experiments was to create a replica Aard'Vorn. They believed that the Aard'Vorn should not be exlusive to Eidyn and desired to create their own so that they could maintain their power and influence. While they only succeeded in making a replica of the Worldstone, this still rapidly accelerated their technology - especially when it came to strip mining and constructing vast underground strongholds. Because of their actions of digging deep underground along with acquiring vast amounts of Deep Ekati for their experiments, they found themselves at near constant war with the Arbiters.
Thalefeaster
The Vanadians also experimented with creating various magical life forms. They are responsible for creating the Thalefeaster, an enormous tick-like creature that fed on the energy Erudite's planetary core. Not only did this allow them to acquire massive amounts of magical power, they also effectively held the entire world hostage during their reign. The Thalefeaster posed a constant threat of exploding which would cause a chain reaction that would destroy the entire planet.
Even after the demise of the Vanadians, the Thalefeaster remained behind hundreds of years later, still posing a threat to the world.
