The Second Rupture is an event that took place in 999 ADW where an enormous dark corridor threatened to consume Erudite. Maria Martines had to fight against Antithesis to stop it from happening. After this event, spirits became more abundant and commonplace on Erudite.

Many events lead up to it, including a war between Oneirian gods. The dream world of Mobius was ground zero for the start of the Second Rupture's formation.

The Second Rupture is called as such because the First Rupture occurred in ancient history during a war between the Zula and the Goar. Legends were passed down of a great hole in the sky opening up to punish those who engaged in the war. The various dreamwalking societies across Erudite saw the same event occurring again and thus, named it the Second Rupture.
