First Rupture

The First Rupture was a catacylsmic event that took place approximately 10,000 years before the Demon Wars. A war broke out between the tribes of the Zula and the Goar over control of the continent of Swen, the place where the Tree of Dreams emanated its magic. The resulting conflict stirred up activity and caused Antithesis to appear. Although he most directly attacked the continent of Swen, a dark cloud could be seen in a fixed point in the sky throughout the entire world. This dark cloud was metaphysical in nature in that it could only be observed through the naked eye and not through any lens or instrument.

The Great Spirit was forced to intervene as there was a risk of dark spirits leaving beyond Swen and attacking the rest of the world. Thus, the Goar were banished in the Tree of Dreams' Realm of Darkness. Ashamed for being responsible for the war, the Zula willingly went into exile in the Tree of Dreams' Realm of Light, leaving behind their technology and ruins for other mortals to discover thousands of years later.
