Blood Moon Demon

The Blood Moon Demon is a unique type of demon that only appears during a total lunar eclipse of Kosa and Erudite. Kosa turns a bright red, coppery hue and the demon manifests itself in the silhouette of the moon, letting out an ear piercing shriek as it begins its hunt. It takes the shape of a large, hairless pink bat with a disconnected jaw of razor-sharp teeth while it gazes down with two large glowing eyes without pupils. There, it terrorizes any who get in its way, only relenting once the eclipse ends.

The explanation for its connection to the blood moon is not fully understood. It is theorized it could be some form of astromancy at work although the inner workings are so potentially so complex that some simply view it as an unexplainable paranormal event.

The first officially recorded sightings occurred in the late Reinaissance era where it was seen in Emsius. Everything from before has mostly been rumor and folklore due to understandings of planetary movements not yet being fully developed.
