The Final Rupture is a major event that took place in 1020 ADW. After previously being defeated during the Second Rupture, Antithesis had returned after a hiberation, and the Great Spirit would not be strong enough to hold it back. Antithesis had begun absorbing the memories of Vaskus to be reincarnated as him. This was an event foretold by many Asmos worshippers such as Leir and Emsius. A final judgment when the creator god would decide whether or not to end the world and start over.

Overview

The events leading up to the Final Rupture were not the first to occur. As a matter of fact, it happened countless times over many eons, only taking place in previous iterations of Erudite that Asmos had discarded. Before the existence of the current universe, Asmos had experimented with the creation of other worlds, all very similar to Erudite in many ways. However, when a world was not to his liking, he left it abandoned. Rather than choosing to spend the energy destroying the world, he simply let it decay, allowing forces of chaos and darkness to overtake it while the inhabitants of that world were helpless to stop it. Thus, the cessation of all chronomancy as seen in the Maximum Chronomancy Date is considered an omen, indicating that the weaves of fate have run out and Asmos had no further plans for the world and the mortals that inhabited it.

One particular Goar named Praxis had studied this phenomenon for thousands of years. And thus, when the time came, he had a plan to save all mortals by preserving their souls in a deep, dreamless sleep so that when the world was destroyed, they would be reincarnated into the next world. However, the catch was that Praxis would demand eternal servitude as payment for his efforts. This led to governments all over the world convening, weighing the pros and cons.

Ultimately, Praxis’ offer was turned down, to which he did not approve. Thus, he began his attack by invading Swen, where the energies of the Tree of Dreams were the strongest, turning Antithesis into his ally. Praxis was eventually defeated, but not before he cast his sleeping spell out of spite. Only this time, he changed the spell so that it wasn't dreamless which made them vulnerable to Antithesis as they slept. All mortals on Erudite fell into a deep slumber known as the Long Nightmare. Over the course of a year, the entire world would find themselves in a battle in the world of dreams against Antithesis. Were they to lose, Erudite would decay into nothingness and Asmos would proceed to create the next iteration of the world, repeating the cycle once more.
