Great Spirit
The Great Spirit is a powerful Aetherian, said to be the first one to be born after the death of the Old Pantheon. He took a particular interest in the continent of Swen which was destroyed during the Shattering. Hoping to bring life back to the continent, he planted the last surviving seed of the Tree of Dreams so that it could bring magic to a land exhausted of ekati. The Great Spirit carefully watched the development of Swen, consulting the memories of Ouros in order to learn how to cultivate life and the civilizations it was destined to build.
However, the Great Spirit had a darker side. Although he had absorbed many of Ouros' memories, his curiousity led him to exploring the memories of the evil god Vaskus. Horrified by what he had done, he immediately purged the dark thoughts from himself by containing them within a formless entity called Antithesis. The Great Spirit would warn other Aetherians to not absorb Vaskus' thoughts, thus leading to the creation of the Celestial Council to establish guidelines on how Aetherians were meant to interact with mortals.
While the Great Spirit nurtured life as best as he could, Antithesis would continue to grow alongside the dark thoughts and negativity of mortals. While the rest of Erudite was mostly fine, the Tree of Dreams served as a direct conduit where Antithesis could directly influence mortals making the continent of Swen the most vulernable. The Great Spirit and Antithesis are thus, locked in a mental battle - with the thoughts of Swen's mortals playing a role in influencing the outcome of the fight.
