"Where do the Oneirian gods truly come from? They are myths made real who then influence our myths which make them more real. Were they real beings first or were they mythical? That is the mystery of the dream worlds."
―An Ahona philosopher

Oneirian gods (sometimes known as Dream gods) are a powerful sub-type of spirit that was born within the dream worlds of the Tree of Dreams. Like Aetherians, they manifest by absorbing memories and dreams. However, while the Aetherians were limited only to absorbing memories from the Old Pantheon, Oneirian gods are capable of growing and manifesting through the dreams of mortals. Effectively, the myths, legends and stories told by the people of Swen (and eventually the rest of the world with MagiNet) allowed them to manifest into reality. Folklore and even works of fiction bring these entities to life.

Oneirian gods are exceptionally intelligent and magically gifted. They derive nourishment from the prayers and ritualistic practices of their followers which does mean that they'll weaken in strength if they are forgotten about. Their personalities are driven by the associated emotions used in their creation. Oneirian gods spawned from positive emotions tend to make them benevolent while negative emotions lead them to being hostile.

Known Oneirian gods

  • Antithesis - A unique type of Oneirian god that spawned from the dreams not of a mortal, but of an Aetherian: the Great Spirit. Antithesis was formed when the Great Spirit purged his memories of Vaskus into its own being.
  • Henkle Osborn - A malevolent trickster god that kidnaps wayward dreamwalkers and forces them to fight in tournaments.
  • Coyote - A benevolent anthropomorphic coyote manifested from Ahona mythology. He was part of the Fire Heist Crew who desired to teach mortals how to dreamwalk when the other gods wanted to prevent them from learning magic.
  • Tau - An evil god-king that terrorized the continent of Keraguay. He has many children, all of whom are cursed to take the form of monsters.
